My VOTE Counts!

Today I voted. It is the first time that my husband and I went to our polling place together and sat side by side as we voted. I guess our area does not warrant machines with curtains? I hope you made the choice to go VOTE today too. I will wait eagerly on the results now.

  1. We don't get curtains, or chairs, either. There are partitions put together in a cross shape, giving 4 stations. Each corner has a small shelf and a Sharpie. Quite a bit different from the curtained booth with click-clacking levers that I used to vote 30 years ago or so. Still better than a tent, like some places in NYC and Jersey!

    1. Yeah I guess I have something old in mind- but this is the first time I know I could of read the person to the left or me and right of me as I voted. I voted in probably one of the poorest sections of town in a church on a scan card. There was a closer polling place to my home but this was where I was zoned. I am use to being in a larger city with electronic booths. Guess thankful I had a chair and yes better than a tent!

  2. In Australia voting is compulsory so it looks a little weird seeing people encouraging each other to vote.... hope there was a good turnout and like your creative way to encourage people...xx

    1. Several years ago I had a few friends in Memphis from Australia and they said the same and were so in shock how many people did not vote here. I wondered where you were because I am always up late at night and it seemed from the creative blog you were up really early in the morning. I have traveled many places but have not made it to Australia yet.
