Baby Quilts

I am so late in getting this quilt mailed off. At least the baby is still a baby. Just thought I would share. I also had made my friend this encaustic piece. It was one of my first pieces and has been sitting waiting for me to take it to her. I did not get to go up last year so I have decided I might have to break down and mail it. It does not really look like my current work and so I am now second guessing sending it to her. When I made it though I had her in mind so off it will go.

New Encaustic Work

After the wonderful response to the small encaustic work I showed at the gallery, I sent out for more medium. I received my new art supplies and have been busy creating a few small pieces. The size of these are 8X8. They are encaustic with image transfer, oil stick, paper dollies and buttons. I am going to have to get busy looking through my photography for new images to include in my work. The fountain image and gate were taken in Montgomery, AL. The prayer girl is from a photo taken in St. Louis Cemetery in New Orleans.

The Show is Up

Our show had a great opening night reception at the Armory Learning Arts Center. I sold several of the smaller works that I have shown on here. I have just received some more art supplies and hope to start back soon to painting. This weekend took me on my side journey of making pillow covers. I had made some for our Art Unleashed event held next to the dog park. Some profits went to the humane society. These are hand cut appliques and stencils so no two are the same. I am planning to ship these off to Memphis and NC to test in a boutique.
