A New Beginning

This is day one of posting on this new blog. It is a response to a new start- a day to day artwork calling for the month of November. It is my hope to share a little of my artwork and world here with you. I have always been an artist. My crayons and coloring books were kept under the couch as a small child and I am sure I used them daily. In Elementary school, we had art once a week and I found that very often my work did not look like the others in class. In first grade they had us do some pictures and I remember not liking mine at all. It ended up being shown at the public library in town. Once art was taken out of school my parents enrolled me in painting classes and I continued making art. My passions switched to fashion and I followed that road through college until I came to a turn and then followed theatre. Currently, I find myself with some time on my hands to explore art again. I am just completing a five week figure drawing course. Maybe I will share some of those musings here. When making art I am reminded often that you have to let yourself be very bad at something in order to get very good. This has been my constant battle with the human form. At this point, I am attempting to find my own voice. I find that I float alot. I get bored easily and then switch mediums. My newest love is Encaustic painting. Check in again and see what is in store for my November ART journey.
