Here is another one in progress. It is being made on a piece of wood box that had been used on stage. You can see the changes I made today to the piece. I am still not sure it is done. I might lighten up the top right corner. I finally did a little research on tall flowers and added those tonight. I had painted the sides white but I now really want to pant some free hand stripes? Will see. Still thinking.
Here are some images from my recent explorations in Encaustic. A few weeks ago I went downtown and took many photos of iconic images in Montgomery to use in my work. Below are two paper doilies explorations, two using my images from Montgomery, and the last are using images from New Orleans.
I have still been creating work. I just have not been blogging about it. Currently, I have three pieces showing at the ARTSREVIVE Show in Selma, AL. One is an encaustic mixed media piece featuring fiber, the next is a fiber piece created with silk. On this piece I used the tie silk dye transfer method to create the pattern of colors. The third piece is a photo that I took while in New Orleans Spring 2013.
