Beautiful Saturday

It is beautiful weather here today. I was thinking alot about nature and decided tonight to work on a lovely encaustic painting of trees. I don't think this piece is finished yet. I would like to add some more contrast into it. But I am done with it for today. I have been busy sketching some ideas for Christmas ornaments on playing cards. That might just be what I work on next.

DANCE, DANCE, Perform!

Today I was able to pick up my sweet Fi from the vet. She is on some pills now and will have a follow up visit soon. I really did no artwork of my own today. Last night while sitting in worry, I did do some doodles and one figure sketch.

My art for today consisted of viewing art! First, I teach and so today my students did ten minute plays. I think I scared them enough this term because these were really good. Then, I went to see my local university students perform a dance piece tonight. I enjoy dance. It is beautiful the human form in motion, especially if you have a good lighting designer! I love side light on the human form.

No Art Today

Fiona in her Halloween costume Thing 2 Had to take my precious little Fiona to the Vet today. It could be a UTI or something else. She had Xrays that did not show anything and is spending the night at the VET- her first night away from home. She is to have an Ultra Sound in the morning. Prayers and good thoughts please.

My VOTE Counts!

Today I voted. It is the first time that my husband and I went to our polling place together and sat side by side as we voted. I guess our area does not warrant machines with curtains? I hope you made the choice to go VOTE today too. I will wait eagerly on the results now.

Still Life at the Barn

Today I participated in the ART BARN still life. When I arrived this is what they were painting. I did not have enough time to finish my painting so posting my work in progress. I have not painted this type of still life in a many years. Acrylic on canvas The last two nights I worked on this folklike painting of cats. I am sharing it only as process. It did not turn out like anything in my mind. I am not really happy with it, but that is part of the process.

AED DAY 3 Football in the SOUTH

As you know I am on a little journey to create Art Every Day and Blog about it here. I am taking part in the group challenge you can read more about it here or see other artist links http://creativeeveryday.com/ Today we spent time at the football field and I thought how am I going to get in my creativity today! I had taken the camera along in case we came upon anything exciting as we went to a different town. This is what I got and not sure if my husband or I took the second photo. I worked with the camera trying to get a flag in the air photo.
