DAY 15 Thoughtful Intentions
Today I continue working on the quilt. Stitch by stitch, in a random rhythm. I am hopeful I will complete it by next week. Today has me thinking about the colors of stitching I will use. Will it be all green? Will I add purple or red? What about one section of red. I work intuitively letting the stitches guide me.

Acrylic Painting
Atelier Paints-
Tonight I went to an art class to learn more about using Atelier paints. The artist Kellie Newsome uses them in her paintings and I love the vibrant colors. http://www.kellienewsome.com/
Do you remember the work I did the other day at the art barn. Well I took that canvas tonight and worked on top of it. Here is the before and after photos

AEDM Quilting
I will continue to hand stitch the quilt. I do not normally do this technique. I am trying something new. Using embroidery thread and stitching in random patterns.
Above shows a picture of the back of the quilt and the front with hand stitching.

Monday AEDM Day 12
I have four quilts that are works in progress. I decided today that it was time to go back to the quilt that I started New Years Day. I am making it as a gift for someone, but since it is not for a special occasion I have not had any rush to finish the quilt. Suddenly I realize I might see this person soon and so I feel it necessary to try and finish the quilt. This is not my normal work as I normally make crazy quilts. On New Years Day I found myself watching PBS quilting shows and was taken with the pinwheel idea. You can tell I am not much to sticking with rules and so some blocks do not look like the traditional pinwheels. Here is what I started with today.
Here is where I have progressed to today- eating no bake cocoa cookies! YUMMY

Sunday ART Continues
Today I went to Selma, AL to see the art of Kellie Newsome
http://www.kellienewsome.com/
It was a beautiful day for the hour drive. I had never been to Selma and by going there today I have now seen the famous bridge that Martin Luther King, Jr marched across- Selma to Montgomery during the civil rights movement of 1965.
You can read about some of that history here.

As for my own artwork, I continue to experiment with the Encaustic wax. I have added more details to this work.

Beautiful Saturday
It is beautiful weather here today. I was thinking alot about nature and decided tonight to work on a lovely encaustic painting of trees. I don't think this piece is finished yet. I would like to add some more contrast into it. But I am done with it for today. I have been busy sketching some ideas for Christmas ornaments on playing cards. That might just be what I work on next.

DANCE, DANCE, Perform!
Today I was able to pick up my sweet Fi from the vet. She is on some pills now and will have a follow up visit soon. I really did no artwork of my own today. Last night while sitting in worry, I did do some doodles and one figure sketch.
My art for today consisted of viewing art! First, I teach and so today my students did ten minute plays. I think I scared them enough this term because these were really good. Then, I went to see my local university students perform a dance piece tonight. I enjoy dance. It is beautiful the human form in motion, especially if you have a good lighting designer! I love side light on the human form.
